2FLY UK Director Sheldon England has enjoyed the trip of a lifetime in a Supermarine Spitfire ML295 on a repositioning trip from Perth, Scotland to Leeds. Sheldon enjoyed a one hour trip on a beautiful British Summer’s evening.
ML295 saw action around D-Day in 1944 and took part in 67 sorties involving eleven different pilots. It was unfortunately shot down on 30th July 1944. Luckily, Pilot Flight Officer Harold Kramer of 411 Squadron managed to escape unharmed and evade capture.
2FLY are very grateful to Captain Neil Parkinson the pilot of the Spitfire and to Graham Oliver, the current owner, for the flight of a lifetime. Graham has done a magnificent job restoring the aircraft and it is truly a magnificent historic aeroplane to treasure.
